Marketing Ops Strategist

POSITION SUMMARY

Department: Service Delivery | Marketing Ops
Location: Remote, USA (Denver, CO a plus)
Reports To: Founder or Head of MOps
Employment Type: Direct hire, Full-time
Seniority: Mid to Senior
Salary: $110,000 – $130,000 DOE

🚨 IMPORTANT: This is a hands-on, customer-facing individual contributor role.

We're hiring a Marketing Ops Strategist at Squad4.

The right person delivers Marketing Ops every day—building campaigns inside HubSpot, architecting the systems behind them, and guiding clients through the strategy that ties it all together. You're a mid-to-senior individual contributor with strategic instincts, not a manager-in-waiting. You love the craft. You ship.

AI and Demand Gen have rewritten the rules of B2B revenue generation. Marketing isn't a support function—it's a primary engine. Our clients need someone who can execute Marketing Ops with structured, systems-level thinking: connecting Content, SEO, AEO, Events, Digital/Paid, and Demand Gen into one coherent revenue motion—and operating the Marketing → Sales handoff where most B2B revenue dies.

We're building a different kind of HubSpot Solutions Partner organization. We're a boutique consultancy—one where real operators embed with client teams, own the outcomes, and build systems that actually move the needle. No thrown-over-the-fence requirements. No offshore teams shipping deliverables nobody asked for. No strategy decks collecting dust in a shared drive.

If you've spent time at a faceless agency—juggling a dozen clients, drowning in tickets, measuring success by "did it ship" instead of "did it work"—and thought there has to be a better way... there is. You found it.

We're a small crew of seasoned commercial operators. We'll challenge your thinking, trade you real knowledge, test ideas alongside you, and turn you loose on our clients' growth. If you've got the itch to build, experiment, and stretch a skillset you've already worked hard to build—we have the room and the trust to let you do it.
We're building independence and freedom through complete ownership of the work. If you want to be an integral part of something meaningful—and don't mind the occasional space pun—we've got an adventure for you.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing individual contributor role. You'll deliver client work, productize the practice, and help grow the squad behind you. No blackbox marketing. Ever.

Responsibilities & Daily Activities

This role is client-facing and requires excellent communication skills (written and verbal), strong project ownership, and the ability to distill complex challenges and business requirements into actionable recommendations.

  • Build and ship campaigns inside HubSpot Marketing Hub Pro and Enterprise: Design, build, launch, and optimize multi-channel campaigns end-to-end. Workflows, emails, landing pages, lists, smart content, custom behavioral events, the Campaign tool—you live in the platform.

  • Architect the Marketing → Sales handoff: Configure and operate MQL/SAL/SQL frameworks, lifecycle stages, lead scoring, and routing inside HubSpot. The handoff is sacred—you make sure it works.

  • Execute Demand Gen across channels: Drive measurable pipeline through Content, SEO, AEO, Events, and Digital/Paid—coordinated across channels with shared targets and shared telemetry.

  • Build the reporting that executives actually use: Campaign performance dashboards, attribution models (multi-touch, first-touch, last-touch), pipeline contribution, CAC by channel. Make the work visible.

  • Guide clients through strategy and execution: Run working sessions, lead QBR prep, translate business goals into Marketing Ops roadmaps, and advise client marketing leaders on what to prioritize and why.

  • Operate events end-to-end: Webinars, field events, and the integrations that connect them to HubSpot (iCapture, Zoom, ON24, etc.). Build the infrastructure, run the campaigns around them, measure the pipeline they produce.

  • Bring the practice forward: Document what works, contribute to Squad4 SOPs and playbooks, and partner with the Head of Marketing Ops to sharpen how we deliver. You're not building the practice—you're making it better as you go.

Qualifications For Success

  • 5+ years in Marketing Operations, Demand Gen, or Growth Marketing at a B2B SaaS or professional services company
  • 5+ years of hands-on HubSpot Marketing Hub Pro and Enterprise mastery—campaigns, workflows, lifecycle stages, lead scoring, attribution reporting, custom behavioral events
  • Demonstrable RevOps chops: built or operated MQL/SAL/SQL frameworks, lifecycle stages, lead routing, and the Marketing → Sales handoff in a production CRM
  • Track record of building and measuring full-funnel B2B campaigns across Content, SEO, paid, and events with attribution to revenue
  • Working knowledge of SEO and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization)—you can brief writers, analyze technical SEO, and understand how AI surfaces content
  • Events execution experience—webinars, field events, and the integrations that connect them to HubSpot (iCapture, Zoom, ON24, etc.)
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship
  • Excellent written and verbal communication—you'll be in front of client executives every week
  • HubSpot certifications (Marketing Hub Software, Marketing Contacts Pricing, Reporting)
